Career Advice - 3 Ways to Create a Portfolio Career

In this article, the portfolio career is defined as the acquisition of income or work from more than one activity or function at the same time. There are two ways to approach -. Have more than one job or business, or find a way to mix their own interests

A - Any natural or obvious match between their interests

For example, maybe you love photography, writing and scrapbooking. You can have one company as a photographer, selling everything from art photos on stock photography, portreta.Drugi to work as a freelance writer. And yet a third job to a scrapbook store, or teaching and sales materials.

or, start a business, as an expert in creating memory books with well written stories and fantastic photos. You can create products for people on the committee, or you could teach others how to do it. Why not both?

Two - What will you do if there is no match between their interests

You might want to work in the medical field and build ships. So where to start? If you're a practical person, get some kind of medical work that works for you that pays the bills. You can go to school in something like phlebotomy, for example, in six months. Get a LPN in a year. Then, explore how to build ships. But wait, there may be a way to combine these interests after all? These types of large sailing ship cruise lines, whether they need a nurse who also know how to rig the sails? Why not look into it?

Three -. Ok, really, there is simply no match between their interests

The best advice here is to run things one at a time.

Let me give myself as an example. I love to travel, so I got a job at the airline (which I am still grateful!). But it was almost two years before I could control my schedule enough to add other interests. Last year, I became an independent contractor for the direct sales company. This year I trained so that I can offer my services as a coach to other people like me find the best career path. Each of these things makes me a combination of benefits, income and happiness.

Finally, this is what this type of portfolio career is all about - not being tied to one thing all the time. It's like catnip for the generalist.
