Career Advice - Self Development - Balancing My Extrovert Nature

This advice is part of the two-part series on introverts and extroverts in the workplace - we'll start with extroverts. Extroverted people are easily recognizable because they tend to gravitate to the center of the crowd and love to be right in the middle of the action. They tend to seek attention. When it comes to work in organizations extroverts are typically found in roles such as sales people or other roles that have a high human interaction liability. But what happens when a group of workers are heavily weighted towards openness? Well, they lack some of the gifts that introverts bring to the party, for example, meant thinking about the issues!

So, if you think that you May be open (ie, outgoing, love interacting with others, and you need constant contact with your friends - or live by phone or SMS), here are some tips for just thinking:

• Make sure you listen to - extroverts tend to carry a conversation without giving others the space to give their input. Well, would not be considered extroverted, if you are not. As a member of the team, and it is important to cooperate and make sure you are listening and hearing the opinions of others in the group.
  
• Focus on the problem at hand - though it may be hard not to jump from one topic to another, do not forget, some of the more introverted workers may find it easier to focus on one thing at a time.
  
• realize that not everyone is as out going as you - other people May be more than the reserved! Introverted people will be less likely to talk much about his ideas, but do not assume that their behavior is the quiet acquiescence of for your ideas!
  
• Think ideas through and be sure to thoroughly explain - the idea is likely to come to you a mile a minute, but do not expect everyone else is bound to each of your energy, they are likely to play catch up. Slow down and think through any ideas you throw out the group and help them see the value will bring.
